BT-DT many times, as I often have to compose in shifts; can't work online for very long at a time. I've finally learned, when I sense a post will be a long one or I may be interrupted, to compose on another text editor (I use OneNote because it saves every keystroke, but any will do) and copy/paste into NT's composing window when I'm done... ;)

There is an auto time out on NeuroTalk. If you make long
posts, you can bypass that, by doing this:

When you sign on, there is a little box called "remember me".
If you check that you won't be timed out.

If you hit the wrong key or mix up screens you can hit back button several times on each tab/window and sometimes your post will come back in a cached page. Not always, but many time you can retrieve a post that way.

Mmmm... I do that every time, and I still get timed-out and have to relog on after a few (10-20?) minutes. If I get the log-on screen, it usually still has my msg. and I can continue, but sometimes it's lost forever... That's why I learned the method I mentioned.

I'm the fool that disproves things that are foolproof! :o :p

I make very long posts, and often leave them unfinished, if I am needed elsewhere on NT or at home. Many of my posts involve searching for data and links, as you have seen. I've never been timed out when checking that remember me box. I'll ask around to see if any other of the team members are having an issue with that.

Timed out, losing long posts.
Tips-

-having 2 tabs, or 2 browser windows open to the site and if timed out use the other one to re log in again while keeping the 1st one open- esp if typing a post on it, then you should be able to continue with the posting of the message without losing it.

-add the http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/index.php to the cookies exceptions section - and always allow them
maybe that would help.

What browser you use may make a difference too.

Hope these tips help.
Don't mean to hijack the original topic here, just thought I'd mention those tips.

I do that a lot too. OneNote is on my task bar, popping up a blank page is a single click, and it always works. It's no biggie; it's automatic now.

Sounds like a good tip for others. Seems like every site has its glitches. :D

If you check "Remember Me" AND ensure that you "Allow Cookies" for neurotalk.psychcentral.com you should not be timing out...if you are timing out and have enabled those 2 parameters, then the problem is most likely on your own computer/browser, and not due to any "glitches" here
