Mine was over a year ago January. Have had many ct scans and a a total vascular screening a couple of months ago. So far just the one but they want me on blood thinners forever because it was the most deadly kind. It can cause much stress and if you need something for anxiety don't hesitate to take it. Anyone can have a clot and if they really understood that everyone would be flipping out. Take care.

The other day I was watching Dr. G on OnDemand, and she
had a puzzling death in an older man, which turned out to be
a large blood clot from the leg that broke loose and blocked his
pulmonary arteries. She found cancer of the kidney which he
did not get treatment for, so was assumed to unfound yet.

She mentioned that people with cancer have greatly increased
chances of getting emboli and clots, so I looked that up today.

Last week when I started this thread I opted not to go the the doctors. (Plus it was the weekend and I was not willing to spend it sitting in an ER waiting room) The pain eventually left and visited other areas. However today it returned in the calve and since you guys got me all worked up about clots last week I googled pain behind the knee, (which is where I believe the pain comes from). It said there was a thing called a Bakers cyst. I decided to call my doctor and they let me come right in. He felt around and said it does not appear to be a BC or a blood clot but since now I have a history he recommended an ultrasound. I was able to get into a nearby medical center where the tech did her thing and let me go. Saying off the record that if she thought there was a blood clot I would not be allowed to leave the office. Both visits combined were only 2 hours. If I didn't call work they would have never even known I left and then returned. So I am out two $25.00 co payments but I guess better safe than sorry.

Now I have to wonder if this is nerve pain. It centers behind the knee and can either be in the calve or the upper leg to the butt. I lowered all my computer chairs as I realized I had them too high and was putting a lot of pressure on the back of my upper legs. Thank you all for your concern and advice.

Also this weekend I experienced a feeling of prickly itchiness all over my body like I had an allergic reaction. I had to keep rolling up my sleeves. I also had two instances where I had a sudden sharp pain in my little finger like a bee sting. OUCH! but no sign of anything. One time I was folding a comforter on my couch when it felt like I got stabbed by a needle. Another person in the room said I probably got bit by a spider. Maybe, but I tend to think it is some strange nerve flare ups. Is this common with anyone.

I am not complaining and though this thread makes it sound like I'm a total mess, (maybe I am and don't know it) I am still relatively pain free(as opposed to symptom free) and am able to enjoy a variety of activities.

I don't know much about this but since you mentioned itching I'm wondering if you have an allergic reaction causing some swelling and nerve compression?

I haven't been able to find definitive info but I seem to be having something like that from my inhaled steroid....swelling causing entrapment symptoms. I thought it was tendons but one article I read mentioned muscle swelling. I know I have that in my arms and am beginning to wonder if it is also present in my legs.

I get the sharp pain in my little finger as well and itchiness. I wonder if you had an allergic reaction to something on your hike or if you are having a med issue. Is itchiness a SE of coumadin?

I have a Baker's Cyst but it doesn't do much anymore.

Hope you find some resolution, as I said, I don't know if my experience is applicable.
