I had a bladder sling for stress incontence 2 yrs ago. from that surgery I suffered damage to my ilioinguinal-hypo gastric nerve which causes constant pain, especially with any activity. I am unable to do want I want to do & is very frustrating. I tried a peripheral nerve stim in my groin but the stim was to positional & I didn't receive the pain relief I needed. I have had numerous steroid inj with only 5 hrs of relief. I wear a Butrans pain patch & take Gabitril, Zoloft & Tramadol daily but still unable to obtain the relief I need. Last week I trialled a spinal cord stimulator. During the 5 day trial my entire left leg from my hip to the bottom of my foot was being stimulated & I only need it for groin pain, NOT my entire leg! Has anyone experience this type of nerve damage & what have you done?

I have had a surgery 4 yrs ago for stress urine incont. This surgery has cause damage to some of my pelvic nerves, causing rt sided inguinal & inner thigh pain. I have had several test & procedures done. If you are suffering from this what have you did?

I have nerve pain in my groin which started in the ilioinguinal and now is in the pudendal but I take amiptriptyline for it. Did you try Lyrica? it even cured some people as long as they took it after a few months from onset of pain.
Did you try a cryoablation of the nerve ? the ilioinguinal should be easy to get rid of, unlike the pudendal

So sorry to hear of your pain. In an attempt to fix one thing, you now have something else to contend with and that is awful. Every time I have had a surgical procedure, it may have fixed the intended problem but created a new and different one so I can relate to what happened to you. I have nerve damage in my leg due to a surgical procedure, not the same procedure but I know what it is like to get nerve damage from surgery.

MaryJane's comment about ablation may be your solution. I would discuss the possibility with your doc.

I have some curiosity questions if you wish to share but please do not feel obligated. Did a gyn perform your bladder sling surgery or a urologist? (Not that it matters, just curious.) Were your attempts at relief done by a pain management doc or another specialist?

What ever happened to you? I think I may have the same thing. I am worried. Right after bladder sling surgery (this is my second time that I had the same procedure...they keep the first sling in and just add the second new one)I had terrible pain which was helped with pain killers. The pain killers made me constipated and the nurse told me that was the reason for the pain. I am no longer constipated but I have unbearable burning pain in my left groin area. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery. I have not been able to contact my doctor just her nurse. My follow up is in 4 days. I have not been back to work, I have not exercised, I am getting depressed and afraid. Please advise. Thank you.

How is everyone now? Sometimes I get a jolt of pain and scream. I want my old life again. I thought this would fix my incontinence and it did but what do I do with this new pain problem? How do I know if it is nerve damage? Does nerve damage go away? Will I be able to go back to my regular exercise program and regular job which is physical? I went to a urologist that was highly recommended. What could have happened? Will this go away in a week or so? Is this permanent?
