48 hrs., but my results are not typical (which is why I say it worked extremely well for me). It's also known to work better in combination with Acetyl-L-Carnitine and Pantothenic Acid (vitamin B5). I've tried both: ALC did not do anything for me; B5 did (further improvement plus some unrelated benefits/improvements). IIRC, MrsD was just the opposite; ALC helped her but B5 did not. That just exemplifies that everyone is different, and we have to try different things until we each find what works for us.

I know it's hard to guess how long is long enough (to give something a try). I try to give a supplement between 30-90 days, depending on what I learn/read about it. (Studies of RLA that I have read about ranged from 5 weeks to 2 months.) Then I may tweek it (like changing dosage, or combining it with something else known to work together with it) before abandoning it entirely.

I am getting my cervical MRI tonight and my follow up appt. is on May 25 at which time he wants to do additional tests (nerve studies, I assume). Since my stress level is already through the roof, this added waiting time will not help.

Depending on the test results, I may seek a second opinion with a neurologist recommended by my oncologist whom I trust.

I know it's easier said than done, but whatever you can do about that stress will help both short term (exacerbating symptoms) and long term (cumulative damage). I've never known stress to accomplish/help/improve anything.

Googling: stress and peripheral neuropathy and coping with stress may help some.

Dear Mrs.D,
Me and my husband are both on Nexium. I use it very rarely but my husband take it everyday. If he misses his dosage in the morning, he would feel the acid at night when lying down. Since it was mentioned in this forum that VitB12 is depleted due to regular intake of this medicine, I put him on Methylcobalamine 2500mcg daily (on an empty stomach).

I am interested to know what supplement/s did you take to reverse your GERD and asthma (for me).

Thank you

EFAs reversed it for me. Omega-3 flax oil and fish oil.(today you can try Krill oil, as it is easier and the caps are smaller and there is no fishy after taste) Back then I also took one Evening primrose a day, but after a while I cut back on that one.

Also I was doing magnesium then for my leg cramps.
And Some P5P form of B6. One a day of each. I have a severe hiatal hernia, as part of my GI birth defect so I am very prone to GERD. This was well over a decade ago.

I was doing it as part of a family conversion in diet, for our son.
I didn't it expect it to fix my severe GERD and moderate asthma.

We are both taking Omega 3, 6 and 9 (2x a day).

I read today that Evening Primrose should not be taken with anti-convulsant medicine.

Thank you.

Has anyone used the product Neuropathy Support Formula that contains the B vitamins and R-lipoic acid?

The support formula does not have the new better absorbed
form of lipoic acid.

It is a fixed combo, so you cannot tailor your dosing at all.

And you should take it on an empty stomach.

It is okay if what you need is in there for the price.
But it has its limitations.

Are you aware of anyone who has improved using it?

I would assume some people may improve. The B12 people who were low. The B1 people who need the benfotiamine.
Those who are low in riboflavin which activates B6 (not a huge number). The ALA is the old type and needs to be taken on an empty stomach, so if they do not do that not much help.

This is a shotgun product and their advertising is deceptive.
The ingredients only will help those who need vitamin support.

It it relatively expensive, and I've explained why in other threads here. But it can work for some. Just take it on an empty stomach because two of the ingredients are poorly absorbed with food.

I take methylB12, benfotiamine, and R-lipoic acid stabilized (not ALA) myself. But I tailor my doses, and use the best manufacturers and pay less per day, than this supplement.
