Hi
I am a 58 year old woman. I was in a car accident December 2009 and since then feet went numb, tingling and within 6 months they were burning & in in terrible pain. The Dr. told me I have neuropathy, not much you can do for it. No tests run. Throughout a year I begged my Dr. to run test to no avail and he tried me on pain plls of gabapentin, antitryptyline, they messed me up. I changed Family DR. July 2011, he ran blood work, Mri orderd for my spine, bone scan of feet, exrays of feet , 2 EMG's from 2 Neurologists. Sent me to a a pain clinic in which I am on 300 mg of lyrica at breakfast & supper;60mg cymbalta at breakfast; 30 mg of morphine at supper. A sleeping pill for bed & oxicodent at 4 pm or if I need it. My feet are so sensitive; toes do not move, pain always for both up past my ankles. My hands hurt as well. I have now seen a Nurosurgeon who did a sural nerve biopsy. I now see a Dr who is neuromuscular & he has diagnosed me with NSVN. I take prednisone daily as well as IVIG treatments every 4 weeks. Tomorrow is my 3rd one. I have not noticed any difference . My feet have started to drop & the Dr. is trying to prevent this. Has anyone had this IVIG & how do you feel? thanks June |
