My landlord (who lives next door to me and owns his house and my house), has one leg. Not the modern prosthetics people have today, but he's had it (who knows how many years). It does not bend at the knee and when he goes under my sink to fix something, let's just say, it's a bizarre sight to see where he puts the wooden leg. He's had this since he was six years old.

He also smokes at LEAST 4 PACK OF CIGARETTES a day. I have lived here for 15 years and I've never seen him without a cigarette in his mouth. He is not allowed to smoke in my house. I actually make him put out his cigarette before he comes into my home.

HE IS 80 YEARS OLD, doesn't look a day over 65 which is the age he was when I moved to this neighborhood.

He weighs 147 and eats PASTA every day. His mother died 10 years ago at the age of 105. Oh, his son just got married (for the first time)at the age of 53 (he doesn't look a day over 35) and the wife is expecting!!!!

GENETICS ANYONE?????

Wow, that is amazing Mel and 105 isn't a bad effort at all.
Get this one, my mother is soon to be 77, now i am 53 and people that don't knows us often say " and your wife " :eek: when i tell them she is my mum they do a back flip, great for her but doesn't do much for me at all :) but on the other hand that don't believe i am my age.
There is an old bloke i see every now and again who i see taken his dog for a walk, he said to me one day to treat every day as its your last day because one day it will be :D :D

Reminds me of a story about my Aunt Marion. My grandmother who was 4 feeet 11 had 10 children after she came here from Sicily. (And they weighed between 10 and 12 lbs). my mother weighed over 12 lbs at birth. All were born at home and no one died at birth. Imagine 10 live births in a 4 foot 11 inch woman and they all weighed between 10 and 12 lbs. jjeeeeeezzz!!!

Anyway, the eldest was my Aunt Marion who had to be the most gorgeous woman on the face of the earth. She had jet black hair and never, and I mean never looked her age. She lost 6 children (all at birth) and finally gave birth to my cousin Chippy. Now remember, my Aunt Marion looked 20 years younger than she was.

So one day when she was walking with my cousin who was about 25 years old, (so that would have made my Aunt Marion about 50 at the time), well, she was walking on the street with him and a truck driver pulled up and started honking the horn at my Aunt Marion, telling my cousin Chippy how BEAUTIFUL HIS WIFE WAS!!!

My cousin got disgusted and yelled at the truck driver "SHE'S MY MOTHER FOR GOD'S SAKE!!" The guy almost died.

Now fast foward to when she was about 75 and retired in Florida. What did she do??? She joined a theatre guild and began doing stage plays. She WAS IN HER GLORY!!!!

I used to look at this amazing face and say "jeez, she doesn't look a day over 30". She ultimately got Alzheimers and aged practically overnight. Though she is no longer with us, my cousin Chippy still is, he's about 75 and looks 50. Amazing.

At least she got to go on stage!!!!

I am really glad that it was a success. And may I add things sound as if they have been scurrying along quite nicely despite all the problems with our health system?

Ahhhh to walk with no pain!:D

As for me pain or not, I've been raising some h*#@ at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. I can't even tell you how much walking I did. I am still recovering,but well worth it for the kiddies. Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Jeeeeez alright, i think back in them days it wasn't unusual for people to have a lot of children, even my aunt had 13 :eek: ,she was only a small person too.
Your Aunt must have been one beautiful lady by the sounds of it, i could not even imaging how your cousin must have felt when the trucky done that.

Thank you Aussie & yep, our health system is shocking, the doctors and nurses do a great job considering the pressure their under, one patient told me she had been waiting 7 years to have her hip replaced.
Easter is wonderful for the kiddies, i hope your feet recover soon.

I for one am gonna wanta KNOW about your 'therapy adventures'! Good, bad and UGLY! Honestly, we can probably all learn from it!
Thinking about it all as you 're-learn' how to do things right, and articulating it as I am SURE only you can, will benefit all of us. It's surprising what bad walking, balancing, even getting-out-of-chair stuff we do 'learn' to avoid pain. THEN we've got to re-learn it all again the right way! It can be both a scary thing, or as I prefer an AWSOME thing. For you I wish it to be the latter and then.....when you'll be doing audtions for the Aussie equivalent of 'Dancing with the Stars' or the like. Heck, I've high expectations, even tho it's vicariously.
