Hello
Despite the EMG being normal, I was diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome, after an ecography. My ulnar nerve is mildly pinched at the elbow. I have had this problem for 3 years so, I'm considering surgery, since I can't bend my elbow nor perform my work. I would like to ask you for some advice: - statistically speaking what is the outcome of decompression surgery? -why don't sometimes people get full recovery? Is it because surgery is a sort of placebo as Dr. Sarno/TMS theory states or is it because nerves don't fully recover? -Can a pinched nerve compress other adjacent nerves? I think my radial nerve is also affected. -Is there any drug under development that somehow reinforces myelin sheets so that nerves can handle compression better? Thanks a lotfor your help, Ac |

No, but I did a thermography which showed a kind of RSD.
I don't believe in EMG anymore. That's why I asked my neuro to do an ecography of the elbow. That's when I found that my ulnar nerve is compressed. As people say an image is worth a thousand words. What's strange though is that this entrapment is causing neuropathic pain throughout my body, when I perform tasks that irritate my cubital nerve. I believe that RSD and idiopathic neuropathic pain are caused by a single nerve compression. By the way, why isn't MRI neurography widely accepted? I told my neuro about it and he told me that it was a lie, no wonder that he earns money performing EMGs Thanks AC |
