Default And--

--I do love me some curry.

This actually fits very well with the findings of significant antioxidant/anti-inflammatory properties of a number of strong spices--pepper, garlic, oregano.

Now, if I can get my stomach to tolerate more of those . . .

Use Hing(asefetida) in place of garlic. It gives the flavor without the awful breath and no stomach upset. You can find it in India grocery stores.

Amen. A bad bout of IBS (misdiagnosed as Crohn's) put a damper on my putting a little spice in my life... And some (like Cayenne) that I used to thrive on now exacerbate my PN burning. (Yes, it was I who was responsible for hot sauce stocks plummeting in '08)

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Middle age doth sucketh.
