Default Tactile Foot Simulation

Hi - All ,

Just me popping in again when health & spirit allow.

I just came across this device while investigating one of my many other issues and it got me wondering how could potentially help some of us who have very poor spacial awareness / sensation of lower limbs.

I know that may not sound important, but for me at least it seems to play an important key in helping because it gives me a point of reference to start with rather than having none at all ( not easy to describe )

If any of you are familiar with meditation and Buddhist concept of touch & go , you'll know what I mean , and it is precisely this part ( the touch ) that prevents me from go .

Hi Melon,
This is very interesting. I have recently had surgery to excise a protruding ruptured thoracic disc which was compressing my spinal cord. The horrible tingles and nerve pain that I had for months in both legs has gone but I still have numbness in my left foot. The article you posted is interesting. I first noticed numbness in my foot at the end of last year and that was what led me to the doctor in the first place. Having had other surgery to my neck, suddenly having a problem that led me to tripping etc was a worry and still is. I used to walk long distances everyday to keep healthy but now I am reluctant because I still can't feel my left foot properly. It is interesting that people are working on devices to help in this situation.
In the meantime I am trying to strengthen my foot and hopefully through the use of ultrasound and a tens machine, I will regain some sensation so that I can walk with confidence again.
