I was reading in the supplements sticky here and read about statins causing some PN.
I was wondering, if a person was taking red rice yeast, which is a statin of its own kind, could it cause PN???? |

Yes, it may. But it is a weaker dose. Contains a version of lovastatin. But it is possible in sensitive people to cause similar side effects as lovastatin (Mevacor).
Different red yeast rice products, all differ in potency too. So it is difficult to predict.
