Default Why nighttime?

It's coming up to 11pm and bedtime and the stabbing pains have started as usual.
Why does it kick in more at night?
During the day it's just the burning and aching with the occasional stab.
I think I'll have to pay the Doctor a visit for some relief.

Hello,
I believe daylight has a lot to do with it, I can't prove it but night time seems to be the worst time according to the many post I come across. Stormy weather, wintertime is bad for me also.

Yes, I agree with stagger....

really hot weather, bothers me, and also I have most of my problems at night.

I am lucky that my days are pretty good. But I don't wear socks much anymore, as they bother me, too.

Smile Multiple Variables

Hi! Your question is a great question!

I think the answer is multi-factorial.
At night, many things change. We change our bodily positions for long periods of time, this may change our circulation some. We change what we do and do not eat, we may even change medications (some taken at night, others during the day). We may be more distracted from pain during the day because we are pre-occupied with other matters and with other senses (sights, sounds, etc.) Weather conditions (barometric pressures, humidity, temps) may change. We may be feeling pain we'd provoked with our daily activities or this may be additional pain due changing factors at the moment.

Lots of variables!
We may each be very unique in our response to any one variable.
Thus, this can become a question pertinent to each individual?

It may be interesting to track some variables which seem to make a difference for you. This may help you to define why you experience more pain at night?

I hope you find 100% relief pronto!

My Best to You,
DejaVu

Night is the worse for all symptoms for me however, if it is hot outside and i have on sandals and the sun hits my feet, omg, it is awful. Also, when I exercise or have to wear form fitting shoes, that also causes problems.

But really, isn't night time always the worst with everything? Colds, stuffy nose, ear aches, everything seems to be worse at night. I always thought it was because we are busy during the day, less time to focus on aches and pains. Trying to sleep is nothing else to focus on. lol

I don't know if I am the same as you guys as my neuropathy symptoms seem to be caused by medication but for me it seems that the nerves have been stimulated by walking, etc. during the day and by evening they are very crabby. It seemed like they were hyperstimulated from normal use and I had symprtoms, shooting pains, etc. from that.
