Default Question for folk with IVIG experience re Insurance

I have a friend who is getting IVIG for lyme-induced neuropathy. Her neurologist iis doing EMG/NCS every 3 months to get her recertified, and charging her a fortune (Out of network). This didn't sound right to me and I looked up two insurance company websites for what doctor's must do to renew certification, and both said the doctors had to submit proof the patient was benefiting, in the form of a scale of their functioning. Neither said NCS/EMGs had to be repeated every 3 months.

I'm wondering what is the experience of folks who have gotten IVIG...did you need to get nerve studies done every three months to stay on the treatment?

thank you.

Default Ivig

I believe that people with myastenia gravis have to have IVIG treatments. Maybe you could try in that forum?
