Smile The fog has lifted…….

I have posted about my problems with Lyrica causing awful brain fog, confusion and short term memory loss. Yesterday and today I have felt so much better I really think that the brain fog side effects are diminishing.

I am so relieved as the Lyrica gives me pain relief, I still have pain but it is at a level that makes me functional on a daily basis. Thanks to everyone who told me to stick with it, especially Bob who gave me such good advice. At one stage the side effects were intolerable but now I have some pain relief and minimal side effects. I know that Lyrica doesn’t work for everyone but I would say if you have it prescribed and you have bad side effects, stick with it, it took six weeks before the pain relief kicked in and the side effects diminished.

I am still dealing with the other symptoms. I have bladder problems and a constant vibrating feeling in my lower torso and “sit down area” and I am waiting for MRI and Evoked Potential Tests. I may have other issues to deal with but I will continue to post here because the help and support I have got from you all for the neuropathic pain in my feet has got me from being a depressed mess to someone who is determined to start to enjoy life again. My life will have to be different as I can’t walk far or stand for long without pain, and can’t be too far from a toilet, but I will find ways around this.

Living chronic pain is not easy but the key word here is “living”

You are all fantastic thanks so much.

Smile Yea, you are on the road...

So glad you stuck with the Lyrica - just sorry it took so long for the side effects to diminish. Mine was not that long at all, and the blessed relief is so great. You are right, not 100%, but so much better and with the help of Tramadol, I am much more a functioning person.

I was at the doctor exactly four weeks ago and he asked about my walking. Now everyone here knows how HARD IT IS to walk on feet that hurt, but I was determined to try it. We have a mall close by that allows walkers (actually has very few stores open!) and I have been walking EVERY day except four of the past month at least 1 mile and sometimes more. On the nice days, I walk around my neighborhood.

You know the old knock on wood....well.....my feet feel SO MUCH BETTER after walking and sometimes it carries me through the whole day where they feel almost NORMAL! On the day after that I don't walk, I can sure tell it. The first week was pure torture, but it has gotten better and better ever since. Walking has become part of my daily routine now.
