Default supplement question

6 months ago I bought Natural calm plus calcium by natural vitality. It is supposed to be good at delivering the vitamins because its powder that you disolve in liquid.

It has Vit C 265 mg, Vit D3 105 IU, Calcium 210 mg, Magnesium citrate 320 mg, Potassium 105 mg, and Boron 265 mcg

For months now I have tried to take this supplement but it cause acid heartburn. I try with food, without, I try starting with only 1/2 tsp which is a small amount. Everything, to no avail. I really wanna take it cuz its supposed to be so good but I just get heartburn every time.

Anyone know which ingredient in this causes heartburn?

I have tried to research heartburn related to it but find nothing.

What other ingredients are in it?

Perhaps the citrate is bothering you if there is nothing else, listed as "inert".

You can dilute it you know in water before drinking. And or drink lots of water after.

Other ingredients:
calcium gluconate, blend of citric acid and magnesium carbonate which in combination with water, creates ionic magnesium citrate (quote), ascorbic acid, organic rasberry and lemon flavors, potassium citrate, organic stevia, vit D3 and boron citrate.

I use to take this a year ago and had no problems, but now, absolutely cant take it. Cost $30 and decided to try it again yesterday since it has the D3 in it and I thought I might need D3. I keep trying it occasionally since I know it is good...but I simply can not take it. Heartburn and burping ensues every time no matter how mmuch water or food I do or dont do with it.

Such a bummer. I was trying to figure out what on earth in it cause such havoc for me.

alot of citrates in there. There are people who cannot tolerate citrate.

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~vclarke/citric.html

It is not common it can happen. In this article :
wind== gas and bloating I'd translate, since this article is from UK.

This is a link about mostly allergy and not intolerance:
http://www.livestrong.com/article/19...itrus-allergy/

http://www.tummytrubble.com/Citric-a...ance/overview/

notice that mouth sores are a symptom of intolerance too.

You can search more if you need to.
