The hardest thing about it was getting up, showered, made up, and dressed up, but it was rewarding. My classes were scheduled in the morning so I could go home and take a nap! I was so relieved when it was over. It was really tough by the end.

We still have three sons at home. I do most of the laundry and all the cooking, but little else. My symptoms didn't really get debilitating until about four years ago, so I didn't have young children.

Sick and Tired of Feeling Sick and Tired by Donohue and Siegel was my favorite, also How to be Sick by Toni Bernhard, which is a little flaky but inspiring.
My muscle weakness just started to get really bad a few months ago. My husband likes to cook so he does that. Other than that I do some cleaning. Things really seem to be getting harder for me. Thanks for the names of the books. I am going to get them.

While I have had a slower decline in general, and the comfort of knowing what I have, the last few months have seen a definite drop off in muscle strength. Opening jars, wringing out a washcloth, just lifting my legs, all much harder, so I can certainly empathize, and you are in a scarier place than me, since it has ll been sudden for you.

The book, How to be Sick, is very well written, but it is from a Buddhist perspective. About 3/4 of it is really good, but in later chapters she espouses the work of some dodgy self-help gurus and loses credibility. Check out the reviews before you plunk down cash for it. I did enjoy it and wish she hadn't spoiled it!

Sick and Tired is an unreservedly great book. My husband even read it!
