Default Oxcarbazepine??

Went to the Neuro doc because the Gabapentin either doesn't work well or if I take enough I'm a complete idiot. So he wants to try something else, again.

The one on his list he said had the least amount of side effects is Oxcarbazepine. He gave me a prescrip and I need to fill it out today. I'm wondering how it's affected those of you out there. Unfortunately I've been sick with a bad cold and my brain isn't working well between the gaba and cold meds.

Tried Despramine and I didn't like the way it made me feel, I woke up sweating every night at the lowest dose. Because I"m on Wellbutrin and just started Zoloft (to help with my depression and anxiety) I'm not too keen on adding another depression drug.
Can't take Tramadol, which he recommeded. I took it years ago and had a horrible reaction that included vomiting.
Suggested Lamactil, but my dad, who actually gets seizures, said this one caused him neuropathy, so I'm going to avoid it.
Have a generic only prescrip plan but hopefully will get my settlement money soon so I can just pay for something else out of pocket.
He suggested a couple other things, but they're at home and I can't remember them all. One of them was Depakote.

Doc still also won't acknowledge that my neuropathy was caused by either my burn or by the 3 day epidural. We've ruled out diabetes, B vitamin and I have my thyroid under control. All he says is that he's treating it based on assumptions to the cause.
