Default Cymbalta

Can I have everyone's opinion on it? Granted you have tried it, not what you have heard or read.
I want the truthful opinion from neuropathy sufferers.
I reluctantly started it today. So far I am tired and dizzy. My mouth is dry. This is just hours after my first dose.
I am being switched from Lyrica and oxycodone . That is putting a lot of faith into one medication!

Thanks in advance

I tried it many years ago when my PN first got real bad in my feet. My experience will not help you much because I got extremely nauseous followed by unusual headache and my balance etc was very 'off'. I tried for only 3 days then called my doctor who said to stop it immediately.

For what's worth it did nothing for my PN during those 3 days, but probably wasn't on it long enough to make a difference.

hello - I was put on Cymbalta in December for PN pain. Doctor started me on 30 mg for 2 weeks then upped the dose to 60 mg. It's been a month taking the 60mg. I felt like it wasn't doing anything for the pain so I decided to wean myself off it altogether about a week ago. I also think it was causing extra fatigue.

hello. I've been on cymbalta for 3 years now 60mg once a day.
with Lyrica 3x a day and I have found a good combo that has truely helped.
to be honest it took a few weeks to get over the startup effects but worth it.
lots of nausa. hope this helps.

It helped me, but I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I stopped it.

I have been on Lyrica (200 mg x 3) and Tramadol (50 mg x 3) for two years and need something more. My Neuro is having me add Cymbalta 60 mg once a day. Been three days now and while it seems to help the PN the nausea and drowsiness are hard to take. I'm encouraged by the comments here (thanks BigPoPPa21!) so will give it a few weeks.

My experience was the same as this , it helped with pain for about a week. I persevered for two months but couldn't tolerate it so stopped then .

Looks like we are in the same boat!! I take lyrica 75mg and oxyneo 30mg ER plus the cymbalta now. The plan is to just be on one medication.
I am also spacey and have some nausea, although other SSRI's and one other SNRI gave me a lot worse side effects .

Good luck and please keep me posted/share your journey.

I believe I posted you on a different thread regarding Cymbalta. I have PN and when I tried Cymbalta a few years ago, it put me in la la land. Could not function. Had to get off. Yet, I am now on Oxycontin, as well as oxycodone(percocet) for breakthru and do not have a problem. While I still have pain, these meds do help tolerate the pain. Lyrica did nothing for me either.

Hi, I have been on cymbalta for about 3 years now. This was the one drug that did help me. I tried a lot of others before I started cymbalta. I currently take Cymbalta 90mg and Tramadol long acting.
The side effects where tough when I first started it but made a decision I was going to try to get through them and I did. I have no side effects now.
Good Luck
