Glad you are feeling better MrsD.
You are so right: never underestimate the drugs you are on, or their ability to bring on side-effects later on! I would also add your docs will not always pick up on situations like this if the stats says it is unlikely (ie low probability) it will happen. Hey, someone wins the lottery every day! I learned this the hard way. I discovered through a process of elimination my Gabapentin was causing extreme constipation only after pushing my docs to go on Gralise and I knocked down the dose to the lowest levels I could stand. It turns out constipation is very low probablity (< 4%). I now coincidentally have a buildup of cells on my left eye called Salzmann’s Nodular Degeneration of the cornean. Fortunately, my eye doc immediately agreed this could be due to the Gralise/gabapentin. For now we are counteracting that with Restasis and keeping the eyes lubricated. So, yes, never underestimate. |
When my son was young, he had a Salzman's nodule on his
left eye. It finally went away on its own. He was born with a defect in the conjunctiva of that eye called chemosis. The nodule was at about the 9 o'clock extreme left of the cornea. Because the conjunctiva was swollen all the time he couldn't get his tears to clean off the eye surface very well. But it all seemed to resolve with time. Perhaps yours will go away too. I do hope so. Thank you for your supportive words, and also to the others on this thread. I really felt stupid for a while there, as this whole crisis got away from me. But now I am so much better, it is amazing how long I put up with the growing bradykinin levels! sheeesh! |
Sorry you went through all that, thanks for sharing.
