Thumbs up Coq10

Hi Everyone,
I want to start taking COQ10. The only other supplements I take are R-Lipoic acid and multi-vitamin. I checked with my rheumo today and he said he does not object but keep it to a low dose. If you take this can you please let me know what dose and brand you take.

I also want to give you all an update on the new eating habits I have been doing now for about 6 weeks. I feel so much better energy and emotional wise. I eat mostly all fruits and veggies. I do eat fish and eggs. Most of what I eat is organic. I didn't do it to lose weight but I did lose 8 lbs. I think the weight loss is stopping which is good.

I still take the cymbalta, synthyroid and tramadol. I get IVIG Rx's also. I have begun to refuse any other meds. These seem to work for me so I don't want doctors pushing anything else on me. God Bless, them they mean, well but I am sick of meds that make me feel llike a completely different person.

My neuro did some strength testing and I have lost quite a bit of strength since this time last year. I did know this already. That is why I finally stopped working. The neuro wants to raise my IVIG to 3days a month. Right now I get once RX a month. They do help me. I would rather increase the IVIG then take any other meds. I have asked to have my b12 and D levels checked again. I will let you know the numbers after I get it done. I might need to add more supplements.

I am liking this natural business!

That is great that you feel better.

When you stop most of the carbs, you do lose water weight quickly, since carbs seem to hold water in the body tissues.

I'd get one of the new CoQ-10s that are solubilized. This allows for good absorption with smaller doses.

Qunol, or Q-gel (more expensive) at 100mg a day, should be plenty.

example:
Qunol is a 4 month supply.... and very affordable. Also at
Costco where I get mine.

Keep up the good work!

Yes, I am doing much better. My feet don't hurt like they did
either! My joints are better too. It is going to take 6mos
to recover fully, according to some of the links I've read about drug induced lupus.

I am glad to hear you are doing better. Also, I am sorry you had to go through this. I can't remember what drug did you say caused it. Until you said it I never knew there was such a thing as drug induced Lupus.

Another quick question. Is there another supplement I need to take with the COQ10? I have been reading that it needs another supplement for absorption.

Thanks for your help!

No, just try this for now. CoQ-10 is going to help with
mitochondrial functions, and perhaps improve your muscle strength. Acetyl Carnitine also helps muscles.. but you should do one at a time to start. They are both expensive.

NOW has an affordable one. Do the CoQ-10 for about a month, then add in the acetyl Carnitine, 500mg a day for a week increasing to 2 grams a day over a month. When you get to the higher doses, don't take all at once, but several times a day, as there is a limit the intestine will allow to pass.

The evil drug= Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor. for blood pressure.

Yes, I was on it for YEARS! My doctor is thinking that I might have hereditary angioedema--which is genetic-- and that is why
my reaction is so severe. I might be going to an immunologist in the near future.

I'm sorry to hear about the angioedema. I've had a patient that had that. I know it can be dangerous. Let me know what the immunolgist says if you go.
Thanks again for everything.

Default Hi Hopeful

I was the last to believe these suppliments could help my PN. I have taken alpha lipoic acid 600mg, Co Q 10 100mg, B Complex, Tumeric, and B12 shots for a year. There is some improvement in my PN. I take alot less pain killers. I hope this works for you too. Trying to go glutten free, and eat lots of fruit and veggies too. ginnie
