Default tired

I have had neuropathy for ze years now due to diabetes, when I was first diagnosed I had to quit my job because the pain was so severe, on the pain scale it was a 10 for me, I could not sleep dur to the tingle and shooting electricity type of pain, I coulld not shower because the stream from the shower would feel like nails are shooting at the tops of my feet, I hate taking baths but gotta stay clean somehow lol, my doctor back then gave me gabapentin and omg I thought it was a miracle drug, my sugar levels finally got under control, I was able to get my job back and since then hasmoved to a different state and was doing very well til about a month ago, the pain is severe again, sugar level still in good shape, but no way to get meds, I am glad I found this forum tonight and as soon as my wife gets some extra money I am gonna try the b12, I am sorry for rambling I have only gotten five hrs of sleep in the last 4 days and I am at wits end, thanks again to all the info that has been posted here

Are you aware of what number your B12 is now?

Try to get methylcolabamin B12. After taking it, you should know in a few days whether it's working because your symptoms will lessen. A lot of doctors just write a script for pain medication, but don't bother to figure out what is causing the problem. However, there is nothing wrong with learning and taking action yourself.

I don't know what my B12 level is I have no ins. So have not been to a Dr. But I do recall that when I eas taking B complex for awhile I had more energy and the pain was not this severe, I am at the point where I will try anything to ease the pain right now just so I can't get some decent sleepbefore I go totally nuts

rainbowfae, if you can't get your B12 tested before starting supplements, don't worry about it. Just get your hands on some B12 (methyl B12 sublingual tablets) as sson as you can and start with the 1000 mcg tablet, and perhaps break it in half, put one half under your tongue each morning. If you seem to tolerate it well without side effects, you can gradually increase your dose. If B12 is the issue you should feel it within a few weeks, perhaps even days.

rainbow, have you taken the B12 yet? You can take some now instead of waiting till the morning, if the pain is that bad. What sort of B12 did you get (cyano or methyl)?

Drink water if you can, eat good foods (no sugar, lots of vegetables), if massaging help, get someone to massage where it hurts.

Please keep us updated.
