My friends son is fourteen and just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He has the sweetest tooth of anyone I have ever known and is really struggling with his sugar levels. Last week it was up at 29 and should be between 4-9. His insulin pen broke and he didnt tell anyone as he was on holiday and didnt want to go home. Can he take alpha lipoic acid to help alongside the insulin or should he just stick to what the medics give him? His mother is worried sick but he keeps eating sweets behind her back.
