Default MRI reveals bulging disk

I recently had MRI because of PN type of pain. Dr said I have bulging disk at thoracic area. He said this causes pain radiating to left side. That is where I have most of my pain on left side of waist and abdomen. He asked if I had ever been in accident and I said no.

He suggested treatment of getting steroid shot to ease the nerve. Anyone ever have this and how did it work?
