As a Canadian (but living in the US) I have to mention that I spent 20 years in the Toronto area. And there are about 1.2 gazillion lakes within 1.5 hours of Toronto.

Our family cottage is on an island too....love it.

Nah, I finally asked, and it's about 3 hours east of TO. I hope to go there next year, and visit some other friends in NY as well. Will be my first time in the US/Canada.

turns out im going on a road trip myself, new jersey, pennsylvannia,maryland, west virginia, virginia, north carolina, south carolina, georgia and florida. on the way back i am going to be so tempted to make that left turn on interstate 10 and head west.
