Default PN symptoms

hello out there...I am going for an EMG in November for possible peripheral neuropathy...It started with left leg weakness and right foot drag 2 years ago, however I have felt, burning and tingling for about 10 years, also I have calf and butt spasms as well as feet and hand cramps...also my lips/chin went numb for about 3 hours in June , a stroke was ruled out...so does this sound like PN?
PLEASE HELP, MUCH APPRECIATION!

Hello terig.....I'm a new member as of today and have been reading these threads since Dec 2012 when I started chemo for Serous Uterine Cancer. I am diabetic but not insulin dependent...just pills.....my PN started during chemo but was not bad. It escalated about a month after chemo stopped. (Mar 2013) I have some of the same symptoms you have listed above. Burning, tingling, ankle and wrist cramps plus electrical currents in my feet/toes and fingers, itching and others I can't remember cause my chemo/drug brain is failing me today Anyway....I've had to pretty much figure this all out for myself. I have seen numerous drs. My EMG was normal. I finally saw info for a skin biopsy for small fiber neuropathy or SFN and had the test done and got the results last Thursday.....confirmed SFN...even though it was the worst it could be (0 out of 15) I was soooo relieved to have a diagnosis. If you don't test positive for large fiber neuropathy you can ask for the skin biopsy. If I'm reading all the info correctly 99.9% of people with SFN test negative on the EMG. Wish I had known that when I had the EMG done !

I'll be on here daily (on my good days) and will looking to see what you find out.

It's raining here in beautiful Georgia !
