Post Does anyone here have C.Peroneal or Deep Peroneal n.

Has anyone been dx or had surgery for Common peroneal or Deep peroneal nerve compression?
The C. Peroneal nerve is located on the outside of the knee near fibula bone which causes
Pain, burning, tightness, soreness., numbness in this area n also down lower leg to outside ankle. Deep peroneal n. causes pain n weakness in front of the ankle joint.
the Superficial peroneal n causes numbness in front lower leg n foot to two 1st toes.
Wondering which Dr orthopeadic or neurosurgeon does more of these surgeries? My pain n numbness in these areas are getting worse n all I do for ex is just try to walk 1/2 to 1 mile every other day. Increased neurotin to 3x day and still getting worse!
Any advice??
Frustrated

Default I hear ya Rhonda !

I can't help but I do understand...just got back from orthopedic dr (first visit) due to swelling on outside of my left foot and that ankle. He says either peroneal tendonitis or just progression of SFN. This new symptom developed about 5 weeks ago and is driving me insane with pain. He gave me one of those funky boots to wear (can't stand anything touching my feet, even shoes) and told me to see my neurologist to see how he wanted to treat it.

Really ? WTH ?....I'm lost as last years Easter egg !

Good luck in your search for answers and I'll be hoping you find some relief.

Take care.

Thanks debi for the good wishes
ive been to orthodox, rheumatologist, neurosurgeon n all THINK I have peroneal tendonitis! I had surgery in Dec. Common peroneal n. Decompression on outside of knee. Was doing better but the tight pain n burning came back 2 mos ago along w 2 other nerve compressions. Today was the worst ever pain in lower leg and ankle n to top it off have burning pain in low back on same side. Too scary! I go back to neurosurgeon who did my surgery on Thurs. Hoping to get some answers!
Best wishes to you!!

Default Are u on pain meds ? I hope :)

Lord I don't know how u do it.....walk like that ? I do good to take the dog out in the front yard

I've got something going on in both my knees but have to much going on with my feet to worry about them right now. Something is rubbing inside both of them. Before this neuropathy got so bad I would be out with my 16 year old granddaughter and it always freaked her out when I would go up stairs. U can hear my knees.....lol...too funny looking at the expression on her face....priceless

I told her she was headed for the same thing with her knees. She's the catcher for her HS softball team.

Again good luck and keep us posted.
