Are any of you taking Tramadol long term? Can it be taken as such? I just can't tolerate the sedation of most PN meds--make me more depressed than I already am. Tramadol takes the edge of the burning neck issues I have with only half a tablet. Too drug sensitive to deal with PN --
So strange to be tingling in my back when wake up at night but does not bother me during the day. I am hoping there is not more nerve pinching there as well. |

Hi there, I currently take tradorec which is a sustained release tramadol of 200mg and I find it quite effective allowing me to continue working full time. I also have 100mg tablets to top up with when I need to. How long before the body gets used to it and requires higher dosage is a worry and of course the long term effects and dependency. But for now I'm doing OK. Hope this helps and feel better soon.

Thanks for the info... I took some tonite only 25mg of a 50 mg tablet made me kind of whoosy but in the end took away most of my pain tonight.
Have you tried any other drugs? I am so drug sensitive trying to find the right fit they ought to have a way you can buy a couple tablets of this and that... to save drug costs Dr wants me to try Cymbalta but reading how bad the withdrawl can be... no way... have friends on Zoloft and one tried Wellbuterin but broke out in a rash... |

I take a combination of tramadol and paracetamol which helps really well. It's 37.5 mg of tramadol, and I can take up to 8 of those per day, but usually have enough with 4. It's called Zaldiar over here, I'm not sure what the name is in the US.
I asked both my neuro and my GP repeatedly if this was dangerous long term, and they assured me it wasn't, provided there are no kidney or liver problems. Nausea is pretty typical at first but that goes away completely. Also, tramadol has recently been found as a natural molecule in tree bark in Africa - I posted about this a couple of weeks ago. |
