Don't have much time right now, and it may mean nothing, but folate level seems to be very high.

Default While that is a comprehesive serological and urilogical workup--

--it is still mostly composed of mainstream tests rather than more specialized ones.

If you are looking for possible causes of neuropathy, there are still a number of specialized antibody and toxicity tests that may need to be performed:

www.lizajane.org

http://www.questdiagnostics.com/test...ripheralNeurop

Also, there is the possibility that compression or mechanical issues are contributing to this--what kind of scans (CT, MRI) have you had?

I will look into those tests. I had a brain MRI, neck CT, chest CT and
abdomen. I will post what they said but they didn't indicate a reason for pn

Saw a new neurologist today. She told me she doesn't think I have any signs of PN but symptoms more like BFS. Tests she orders were:

Angiotensin converting enzyme CSF
Arsenic
CMV Anitbody
Copper
Lead
Mercury
Porphyrins
Vitamin b-1
vitamion E
VZV AB, IGG IGM

Those will completely fufill all the tests provided on this list
http://www.questdiagnostics.com/test...ripheralNeurop

I will post results when they come available.

Link doesn't work for me. Try using bitlycom or tinyurl.com to make your link shorter.

This link will work:
http://www.questdiagnostics.com/test...ripheralNeurop

When you copy a link from a post, and not the original location, it has been abbreviated by our software here. I think Lewie copied this from Glenn's post.

You can go into QUOTE function and see the whole link and copy from there. When I looked at Lewie's it was abbreviated already, showing that it was copied off a post here.

This link has been posted many many times on this forum over the years, so I am familiar with it.

Default Hi

When I read your post something jumped out at me. "gastritis".

This is actually not as innocent as it sounds. The stomach lining which is your natural defence against bacteria and other toxins is inflamed/eroded or compromised. I have read a lot about autoimmunity and gastritis and the strong connection between the 2. Seeing that your symptoms are so wide spread involving mixed sensory & autonomic PN makes me think of possible toxic/autoimmune or metabolic causes. The causes don't have to be mutually exclusive you could have a chain reaction of events. Contracting gastritis weakens immunity. Bacteria and other toxins colonise gut. The PPI's deplete nutrients. You actually can become too acidic and then your immune system launches a full on attack. this is just a theory of course but I have read that gastritis can be very sinister.

Another thing you can try, in addition to the essential fatty acids
I suggested (which will rebuild weak stomach lining)...

is to try Kefir. This is a drink with 12 different strains of probiotics in them, and it will stabilize your GI tract. It is not expensive and actually is quite delicious.

If you have some obscure bug in your stomach...then it might help to push it out.

This is the brand I use...
http://www.lifeway.net/

Available at Costco now, and Kroger's and many other stores.
8oz a day for starters, and once you get better, maybe twice a week. If you are making smoothies or protein shakes you can use this as a base as well. Costco only has the fruit ones, but Kroger carries the plain as well.
