My one resolution is to eat more dark chocolate, now that I know it is good for me!
|
Only eat one little block of it each day. Love it. :)

Not that I really indulged, but I haven't been eating properly in December. The scales were still mild this morning (95kg coming from 93 beginning of December), but it just doesn't feel right. Starting next Monday I'll resume my role of "houseman" and do the cooking. My wife is not ill and is very slim, but she misses the healthy food as well, it made her feel better too. |

Yes Wide-O!!! (what does your name mean, lol? It seems wrong to call you wide-o during a weight discussion, lololol) For me, it isn't what the scale says, it is how I feel, and weight distribution. Even if the scale says the same number, if I have stopped exercising it moves around and FEELS heavier. As you know muscle weighs more that fat, and I feel that difference. OK..will I get on the dreaded treadmill today? Let's hope, lol. They say it takes a week to make it a habit again...I believe that. |
During the holidays I eat more sugar than normal as well. I too am feeling it.
Also realize that most of the weight gain during the holidays, from my experience, is due to water retention. Eating more sugar/simple carbs causes the body to retain more water. Within a week of getting off of the sugars and back to my normal routine my weight goes back down to normal. Happy New Year! |

I was watching a program yesterday about people who lost a lot of weight, then gained it all back - and then some. That was exactly the motivator I needed. I can see how easy it is to slip back. And for me sugar is truly addictive it seems. |
I lost 100 pounds back in 1996 after having twins and then gaining so much. I swore I would never gain it back.
I gained it back over the years. I lost 60 of it again, have kept it off a year now. Lesson? Never say never. :( |
Good for you Stacy! Wide-O I too have an addictive tendency to sugars. Once I have that first piece of chocolate I keep going back for more. I can't wait until all the candy is eaten and out of my house.
I have gained 13lbs. since the summer. I really can't understand it. I have mostly always been able to eat what I wanted. If I did gain some wait I could take it right back off again. My daughter said it is because I am less active now. I'm trying to get back into doing the treadmill. I did it the other day. Only a regular walk. My having family over for the football game today. My two granddaughters are coming so I'll be busy. No treadmill today. Don't know where everyone lives but I have to say GO EALGLES for my home team!! Have a good day everyone!! Mrs. D. I forgot to say I like the magnesium and chocolate idea!! |

Son in law is a big Flyers fan, but unless he is here we do not watch hockey. Or soccer. My husband rants about all these kids playing soccer being un-American. He is otherwise a sane, intellectual man. I lost about 50 pounds and kept it off but gave gained at least ten pounds since thanksgiving. I have been much more sedentary by necessity and have not adjusted my eating accordingly. Should be on track in another month. At 6'2" it isn't as much as it sounds but I really don't need the stress on weakened muscles and arthritic joints. |
Hope the Eagles win. Not my home team but I certainly hope that they win. :)
