I have some nerve damage from an infection....I don't know WHY, but I do. the infection was in my bartholin gland (so inside the tissues). I did not take antibiotics for it at the time (dr said it was too late)
question is, do they grow back ? they are peripheral nerves of my private bits (fun times).
I'm only 26 and in good health otherwise. I take a lot of supplements for nerve health as well and I caught the neuropathy early, starting amitriptyline after 1 month of symptom onset.

I don't know if there's a definitive answer for every situation, but I know that optimism/positive thinking are more likely to improve chances than pessimism/negative thinking, and it looks/sounds like you're doing that and everything else within your power to do.

I've had someone at my support group meeting today tell me that if my 50 mg of amitriptyline has cut my pain down to a 0-1 then I am one of the few who has responded (from the group) and that I'm lucky to have it work for me....
I'll ask for lyrica when I see my new pain consultant....

my latest symptom has been tingling and itching, I'm really hoping they are starting to grow back or at least quiet down some more of their buzzing

I don't think anyone can tell you whether the nerves will heal or not, but they might. The body has amazing healing abilities, beyond what most doctors have been taught. Eat a healthy diet with plenty of whole vegetables and fruits. Avoid sugar, processed carbs, and processed foods in general. And get some exercise.

thank you so much, I already take magnesium, it does wonders for the electric shocks and some of the buzzing ! I'll look up on the links !

If the amitriptyline is working (and may possibly help your nerves heal/regenerate), why do you want to take something as potentially problematic as pregabalin?

I had considerably dulled sexual sensation while on amitriptyline. I believe that was on 50 mg per day. I am a male person. I don't know how common this side effect is. I was much happier in this area when I stopped taking it.
