Default Newly diagnosed

I have just been diagnosed with neuropathy, type not specified. I've had symptoms for years but no one put the symptoms. It is severe, and I am afraid of the future. Their weather here means I cannot get to physical therapy because I fall easily. I don't take pain meds and I don't feel they are necessary. My main problems are weakness and balance. Is there anyone with similar symptoms? How are you doing?

There are people on here that know a lot more than me. I'm recent to these issues but it has taken me a month to get my balance back but the medication is probably the main cause.
Do what you can within your limitations, You can always slowly try to build up your routine.

Hello,

I can not take IVIg, because it gave me mennengitus two time. I take Hizentra and am doing well with it. It helps with balance and strength. I'm 69 year old female borne in The Netherlands but live in MI since 1962. My neurologist is with the University of Michigan. The only thing is that over time my Hizentra has to be increased. Started three years ago, subcutaneous infusions, 15 ml, two times a day, two times a week. Now, 20 ml, two times a day, four times a week.
Without this drug, I too would stumble and fall.
I hope this info helps you? Maria
