I can relate to sitting and watching your muscles twitch. It looks so odd. I'm use to it now but if I show my children they are just amazed.

johnj7b7r6,
I have hereditary sensory neuropathy and have similar pain in my feet, an aching pain that is made worse by standing. Less obvious while walking. But I don't feel it in my heel, it's mainly in my arch area, but seems to radiate up into my calves and cause an ache there when it's bad. Also I have pain anywhere there is significant pressure, such as sitting, lying on my side, etc.

I get relief from shoe inserts, doing a stretch of my feet that I stumbled onto from a physical therapist, and from evening primrose oil (TwinLab 2600 mg/day), alpha-lipoic acid (Jarrow 600 mg/day), gabapentin, tramadol, eating a healthy plant-based diet, & exercise.

Elevated blood sugar (diabetes or glucose intolerance) & B-12 deficiency are two of the top causes of neuropathy, so make sure you have those covered.

Did your symptoms come on suddenly or slowly over many years?
Ron

Ron - I had a problem about 10 years ago with constantly aching feet which seemed to be resolved by a podiatrist and shoe inserts - subsequently I put the inserts in a cupboard until 18 months ago when it all started again.

This time around I would say it came on fairly quickly along with the hand shaking, muscle stiffness and twitches. In the last fortnight I've started to get a tolerable sunburn feeling too on one leg which comes and goes - I never wake with it but it often starts after I shower and the morning.

I haven't got a clue, too many things going on and none seem to fit.

My last visit to the GP involved some mumbled mention of a marker in my blood and words like hepatitis and lupus. The former isn't likely, I was screened for all types a few years back after a holiday illness. Googling lupus symptoms doesn't seem right either.
