I had the test done about 2 yrs ago, but can't remember the drug used.
I was so relaxed that they couldn't get my rate high enough to get a proper reading at first. I had to sit up and shake my hands and arms and move about to get things going. It was really funny. There was a cardio tech by my side the whole time, just in case of a problem. The people (must've been 3 or 4 alla time) around me were gravely concerned, but I started joking and we all were smiling by the time they finally got my heart rate up to where they wanted it. I don't remember it being too bad an experience. Yes it feels like you've been given an adrenalin rush and your heart gallops - but that's the whole idea. Simulate the treadmill stress, when its not possible to physically do the treadmill. I just thought that it was funny that I was in such a relaxed state (I have a mental mantra that I automatically do, because I have 'white coat' syndrome- especially in my doc's office, before they take my blood pressure), they had to go to extra effort, for it to work. |
I can only imagine them doing this to me IN A DENTIST'S OFFICE!!!!
I'd be a goner for sure!! Melody |
