Default Nueropathy pain worse taking Acetyl-L- Carnitine

I been taking Acetyl-L-Carnitne off and on. I will quit it cause I think it isn't helping or may be making things worse. And then I will read that it is good to take and begin again. This time around I thought I would pay more attention to how I feel after taking it. I will have hardly any pain and within 20 minutes of taking it I am miserable. Anyone else experience this? Wondering if it could be some additive in it. Taking the Jarrow Formula.
