One method that I have found is using a vaporizer. I have seen many videos on you tube and the effects are incredible. I have been diagnosed with polyneruopothy and I use cannabis for medicinal purposes only. I have not been given any pills or help my my neuro (who can't seem to figure out what is going on). I can say that in my personal experience it has helped huge. It doesn't harm my lungs because vapor is different than smoke. I do get a bit of a high but that can be changed if you ingest the cannabis. cannabis has been seriously misunderstood. The only side effect I can report is hunger afterwards. It helps with my muscle spasms though, only this that does.

It may not be as bad as smoke, but that's not the same as "doesn't harm"—the jury's still out on that.
Also, not all vaporizers are created equal. Are you using the type that heats plant material to a temperature that the cannabinoids are released, or the e-cig type that uses some type of solvent? As I understand it, some (perhaps not all—don't know) of the e-cig type use the same kinds of solvents (e.g. glycerin, propylene glycol, and others) used for nicotine delivery. Carbonyl Compounds in Electronic Cigarette Vapors-Effects of Nicotine Solvent and Battery Output Voltage. Health risks of e-cigarettes emerge e-cig solvents medical marijuana Bottom line: make sure you know what you're inhaling. Doc

I too have had positive results with Cannabis. It does not cure NP but in my experience, it helps much more than Lyrica or Gabapentin and with fewer side effects.

If on the other hand, you use oil/wax or some other concentrate in the same vaporizer, that is when you are subjected to a variety of chemicals depending how the oils/wax was created. So why would people use anything other than dry herb to vaporize if dry herb is safer? Most likely because the oils/was are much more concentrated so they can get a faster and/or stronger high. The pocket vaporizers are small. One fill of dry herb is enough foYou may have to re-fill the pocket vaporizer 2 additional times to get the high you get taking from one or two drags using a concentrated form. I never smoked cigarettes but I assume the same is true for them. It would take large number of dry herb refills to equal one cigarette. Regarding my personal use, I only use dry herb and one fill is more than enough for my purposes. I just want to make it clear that the vaporizer is not the problem but instead it is what you choose to vaporize. My knowledge is limited so if someone wants to correct me, please feel free to do so. |

Off main topic and on the topic of the Dude, a friend and I took an acquaintance to se The Big Lebowski for the first time. It was at a local wine bar on an outdoor patio.
I might as well have worn a bathrobe with the looks I received walking in (semi-Dudeish attire). Because of the location and the content I did imbibe on a White Russian, which fully reminded me why I don't drink, especially White Russians. It was an odd place to watch the movie. Jon

Colorado and Washington have the most liberal cannabis laws in the country. In Colorado, the law permits home cultivation of marijuana, up to six plants per adult. (Denver's rules allow a household of two or more adults to cultivate a total of a dozen cannabis plants.)
Crime is down, revenue is up and many people are loving the freedom to cultivate their own medicine. |
