Generally diagnosed by a sweat test. For me, I had a punch biopsy at my hip, knee, and ankle showing decreased nerves at my ankle. This is characteristic of small fiber (PN). Erythomelalgia hurts like the dickens but my symptoms are only when I get hot and can be relieved if I cool the area by soaking in cold water, or putting cold air on my feet. Wondering if you experience the same thing?

I also have small fiber neuropathy.....no A and C fibers left in my feet. I only had the biopsy done at the ankle....this has only been going on a year but it is spreading. Today is the first day I've been out of bed all week.

Sweating.......mine is severe and just the upper body.....mostly my head. I get out of a cold shower and then sweat like crazy for 15 to 20 minutes.....it's so bad I have to put a hand towel around my neck...lol.....I love being outside but also have to put a towel around my neck if I'm out for an extended time. I'm in GA and it's starting to get pretty warm around these parts.
