This is great news, we can't afford to loose good members like yourself.

Thank you all so much for saying such kind things. You really made my day today. I can see I have a lot of reading to catch up on. I am happy to be back among "my Internet family."

My Internet assistant Minnie, headed straight for the computer room without missing a beat... No pouting tonight! What a happy camper!!!

One of you asked what Yorkie was short for. It is short for Yorkshire Terrier, a very small, personable dog that works its way into your heart, via your lap, and never ever leaves... If you are having a bad day, there is no better medicine than a Yorkie. If you are having a good day, there is no one better to share it with. They come in different sizes; all have wonderful personalities, whether large or tiny. One really nice thing about them, is they do not shed like many dogs-good for people with asthma...

Originally, bred for hunting in Britain, (Tony-also a Yorkie lover-may correct me here if I am wrong) they were used in the field to chase game down into holes because of their small size. Now all they hunt here is a lap to sit in...

Minnie's mother Beavis was rescued from an unfortunate kennel-she spent most of her life in a cage. Minnie was born at the foot of my bed and attached herself like glue to me, as Yorkies do, early on. I have been able to keep her going now, for about a year now with special medications, prescription food and SubQ fluids daily. She has brought so much joy into my life, particularly since PN, and she rarely leaves my side...

Some of you may remember me falling apart, when I thought she would die quickly from renal failure. I never imagined that such a tiny creature could make such an impact in my life, and I thought, if I could just have her a little bit longer...

I am happy to be back. Besides, I know there is too much good material on this site for someone NOT to make a movie and I want to be around to see how that plays out... Imagine who would be a suitable character to play our own Mel, a talented and multi-lingual cook and combination nurse to Alan, who is outmuscled only by his own doctor. Then we have Jack-his character, no doubt, would have to be a mysterious John Grisham type, because he undoubtedly is a court expert and probably looks like the lawyerly type, making loads of money and driving a Ferrari. He would be married to a 22 year old, who wears a size 2... We would ply her with cheesecake and cookies until she hit at least a "12, maybe a 14." And "Biker Babe" LizaJane and her hunky biker guy-No question here-that would be Sandra Bullock and Jesse James of Orange County Choppers. Va-va-vooommm... Aaah... Dressed in black, matching bikes and no visible means of support... And LizaJane with a pierced naval??? Our LizaJane??? Shock! There are a variety of nurses and no doubt other medical personnel here, so perhaps a hospital theme could be worked in... Imagine the possibilities with a cast like this... Maybe a McRichard, McGlenn and a McDavid??? All suave, smooth-talking characters who are always disappearing into supply rooms with innocent and unsuspecting nurses??? Our MrsD could play the CEO and attempt to restore order to the set... Like Jack, she would be a wealthy, but mysterious character, who commutes from an unknown island, where she is nurturing a crop of rare herbs destined to cure PN.... She is wealthy, in part, because she has made her fortune selling these on Ebay.

I am sure you all could fill numerous others I am leaving out, though not forgetting, because it is 3:45am and I am falling asleep over my keyboard... At this point, my imagination is cranking down...
Much love,
Cathie

CATHIE,

I love the way you write.

Now who would play who, if we made a movie about all of us!!!!

Me, I'm the muffin lady who speaks 5 languages, and I take care of Alan.
So who would play me and who would play Alan.

Me??? I'd opt for Meryl Streep because she can play any accent and be any nationality. Now who could play Alan?? Harrison Ford, maybe?????

lol
Melody.

P.S. Now cmon guys, who would play everybody else???

Lightbulb L O L

Aside from Robin Williams ( LOL)...

I'd pick Judi Dench for mrsD
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001132/ or
Dianne Wiest
http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/01155...iest,%20Dianne

No offense Mel., But I think Kathy Bates would do a good job for you!

and Hey...I like that wealthy bit.... sigh.

I am sorry to see Brian left out...maybe Cathie will add him today.
