Jarrett622 is right. Wal-Mart has had flip flops covered with bedroom slipper material. I see people wearing them all the time. Must say I envy people who can wear sandals...my world's ugliest feet must always be covered to protect the innocent in the world. Potentially they could cause birth defects if a pregnant woman were to gaze upon them...:(

As to the Croc mystery I cannot speak. I've never seen the beauty in them although I hear they are tres comfortable. In desperation I purchased some Quarks which are sort of like Crocs but they ended up being something I can only wear for a few hours. DH thinks I'm really into shoes as my "collection" has grown by leaps and bounds since the foot pain started. I don't know if he truly believes me that it is because they are not 16 hour shoes (the time I'm in my shoes on my long shifts). Sadly, very few shoes pass the 16 hour test.

Silly question, but why is it when I try to wear the same pair of shoes 2 days in a row they hurt me the 2nd day when they were fine the first? Anyone else have that issue?

Crocs are comfy because there wide in the toe area ,,but don't know about
16 hrs. You should see all the colors,i like the sandals dahlek posted they
look nice and comfy and don't have holes in them. Ha :D Sue

I have some problems with comfortable shoes too. Also, my feet would probably take first place in the, "world's ugliest feet." So much so, that my friend, who was trying to help me find shoes suggested removing my toes. :( Now THAT hurt my feelings big time!

The things that make my feet burn seem to relate to whatever the soles of my shoes are made of, or if something is restricting the foot, like straps on a sandle, and also, socks with Spandex in them, which really make the soles burn. I can't wear shoes that need to be laced up. On another thread, Jack was describing wearing men's business shoes. Anything like that would really crank up the burning in the bottoms of the feet.

My friend has Crocs and loves them. We bought some of those shoes (not orange) that look like Crocs, but the insole is not quite as rough, though narrow feet sure don't fill up the insides. They are called nothingZ and I think you can get them onine a little cheaper than Crocs.

They are popular in our area too, although I was the only person at the doctor's office wearing them... :)

The issue with Sandals is my toes can't GRIP them!

I have to have a back strap now, no more flip flops, because my toes are numb, and I can't "grip" any more, my toes are so tired by the end of the day... I can't really feel how hard I'm gripping and I guess I over compensate. My daughters have come home with the "cutest" flip flops in Gold, and Silver, all kinds of fun colors! I'm good for a run to the store, but not all day at work.
I've tried the Earth shoes from Wal-Mart. But I do need a heel strap I think. It's the gripping with the toes that wears my tootsies out.

As far as socks, I've found some socks at WALGREENS! They are called "Diabetic" socks! I stumbled on them when I took a trip in December and they are the BEST! Just plain old white socks but they are sooooo soft and comfy. If I catch my kids wearing them I yell at them and make them take them off right then and there! They are only about 3.00 a pair, so it's no big deal to buy a pair or two a week.

I'll be on the look out for some good shoes and keep you updated! :OuttaHere: :
