A week and a day
Since off Gabapentin.I am not going to condemn the drug, in fact I may have not been on high enough dose to be effective(900mg/d). My GP took me from 300 to 900 and I stayed @ 900 for at least 2 weeks. My side effects while on were, no improvement in nerve pain. hungry, got a cavity. Some blurry vision and perhaps a little worse in conversational brain power. I read somewhere that around 60% of people may not see improvement in nerve pain. I am not sure if the 60% statistic is factual or rumor, I'm sure I read it here on NT. I will not seek out the next buzzword drug as I am suspicious that my GP googled nerve pain and started me on Gaba. The help that I have found here prompted me to write down my symptoms before I decided to try to get off the drug by reducing 300mg/d for 7 days then 300 more, etc. The electric zaps are the same, nightime tenderness on tops of feet, still the same. So for me there was no downside to quitting. I am less hungry and (perhaps) have less blurry vision while driving in the mornings after coffee. Yes, the coffee dose is still the same, haha. I cannot seperate the psycological from the factual so please add a grain of salt to all that is said here. Good luck to all of you on your journeys, Ken in Texas
