Question Foot Care tricks

I'm sure this topic has been discussed extensively and if so could you please direct me to the threads. I have small fiber neuropathy and am having trouble with my feet burning, itching and getting hot. What types of lotions, soaks, and tricks do the users of the forum to combat the heat and burning. Also are there different socks or shoes that help with this?

Smile Help for tenderness

Hello Wildcovey, The tops of my feet at bedtime were soooo tender. I found Mortons Epsom Salt Lotion that really helps. For a few bucks it may help w/ your pains also. I was sold orthopedic shoe inserts from my Chiropractor. I noticed much greater arch support than I got from my New Balance walkers. Hope you can get some relief. Ken in Texas

The Morton's lotion is wonderful... use only a little bit at a time, on intact skin.

You can also soak in lukewarm epsom salts...this is very soothing and relaxes muscles and calms the nerves down. Do not use hot water.

At night when my feet start burning I soak in cold ocean water (my husband gets gallons of it from the beach). He seems to think it cures everything. It does relieve the burning somewhat.

The past couple of nights I've been awakened with a stabbing pain in my ankle on my left foot. I've had PIN for about 10 years, and it seems to be progressing. I'm not on any medication but I think I will have to look into it if this pain continues.

Mrs. D, do you think the warm water with epsom salts would be more beneficial for the pain than just plain cold salt water?
