I bought some in time to beat the pending ban. I'll report back my experience.

New member here. Would you be so kind as to forward to me a comparable online vendor for Kratom? I tried Coast line Kratom, but my card was declined as a possible fraud. Many thanks in advance!

Its been about 2 weeks since I received my first shipment of kratom so I wanted to share my experience.

First of all the impending DEA ban on kratom which was scheduled for October 1, 2017 has been postponed. A brief synopsis regarding that: They wanted to classify kratom as a schedule 1 substance which puts it inline with Heroin and MDMA as "dangerous drugs with no accepted medical use."

Ironically this just turned into a big time advertisement and many people who never heard of Kratom became curious and wanted to experiment. Couple that in with vendors trying to dump supply at discounts last minute and you have a whole new population of Kratom users.

I've tried countless prescription/non prescription drugs and supplements many of which had no affect on my symptoms so I was cautiously optimistic about trying Kratom.

Let me preface my stating that the following is my experience with Kratom and everybody will have their own unique interaction with the substance.

Low doses of Kratom (1-2 grams) felt like a "caffeine like buzz." No noticeable pain relief but I experienced a mildly jittery energy boost. Some people are able to use it for anxiety but I found it made me a little more anxious.

Moderate doses (3-5 grams) is where I began to feel pain relief. Kratom acts on opiod receptors and I'd compare the feeling to taking a low dose Vicodin/Norco. Pain was reduced 1-2 points on the 10 point scale, however all the side effects such as nausea and dizziness began to present.

Higher doses (5-7 grams) took on a form of sedation. Pain dropped 2-3 points, however I became very drowsy and "high" and wouldn't want to try to function in ways that required concentration or coordination.

Would I recommend Kratom. Absolutely. What do you have to loose? Maybe you spend $50 and it's not something that works for you. If you're like me money is not an issue when it comes to pain relief that will increase your quality of life.

I took 5 grams about 2 hours ago and it has definitely taken the edge of of my pain. At the same time it has left me at a loss for words at times trying to type this. It's not a miracle and it's not without it's drawbacks, but I'm glad I have it as a tool for coping under the right circumstances.

I'd be happy to answer any question either on this thread or through a PM. The only thing I won't do is post info about vendors on this thread. I don't want to take responsibility or promote any online vendors. Hope this is helpful.

I'd be interested in knowing which type you tried. Supposedly, like marijuana, different types are good for different things. Just like so many other people when I heard about the DEA ban I finally decided to try it. I got online but all the vendors that had been recommended were out of stock.

I experimented with the "red vein" which is supposed to be best for pain but causes more "sedation"

I also tried a little of the "green vein" which supposedly isn't as good for pain but allows for more energy.

I can't say I noticed a huge difference between the 2, but I'm still pretty new to kratom and experimenting with different doses.

Based on the general consensus I'd recommend the red if you are looking for pain relief.

Kratom works for me!

I've been using Kratom for the past 3 weeks to slowly wean off the Opioids the doctor put me on after my back surgery 16 months ago. Although the surgery did help my back and some of my symptoms, the burning in my legs remained chronic. I went to a pain management doctor recommended by my PC who is not a pill mill doctor. I thought it was to help me wean off the opioids, but instead, as I still had burning, he changed the way I took them and added another opioid to the mix.

SO, like I wrote I have been using kratom for the past 3 weeks to wean off these drugs and it is FABULOUS! I am down to half the amount of oxycodone and will take on the hydrocodone next. The best part is i have no burning with the Kratom (but I do have some with the opioids) and plenty of energy without feeling anxious. I am not promoting anything here, I am simply reporting what is working for me. Everyone is different as is the cause for our neuropathy. The neurologist still does not what causes mine.

Last, I did get my marijuana card and it is completely useless for me. The products sold at the dispensary in my state are either mostly THC or straight CBD. I am not interested in getting high, and the level of THC made it impossible for me to sleep at night. For those of you that have the same problem check out CBN for nighttime use. Some dispensaries carry it in pill form, patches or cream. Mine does not. It basically has the anti-inflammatory and pain relief properties of THC without getting you high. I would only use it at night to sleep if I had access.

For me it's all in how you blend. I have done lots of research and joined different Kratom organizations to get a better understanding of what might be helpful for me.

So wonderful that it's helping you!

What type did you find the best?

It's complicated!

What type did you find the best?

I found for Pain, withdrawal from drugs, mood and anxiety the red strains generally are best. Most of them are sedating with the exception of Red Thai and Maeng Da. I take a mixture of 5 Reds from a vendor called "Relief Blend" that works well for me.

That being said, Yellow Borneo is probably my very favorite so far. It takes my burning away and gives me a nice clean focused kind of energy. I like to have both and to find them in one strain for me is awesome.

I've experimented with different greens, which are supposed to have the qualities of both Reds and Whites. I don't have a favorite yet. I have not experimented with any whites alone yet as I don't want to get too hyped up. I do have a blend called "energy blend" that has a white strain in it. I mix 1/8t energy blend with 1/4t relief blend and I do get a lot accomplished without feeling out of control, high or bad in any way.

The crazy thing about Kratom is if you take a small amount (I take about 1/4t-1/2t, never more that 1 t) you feel energized. If you take larger quantities it's sedating.

There are red strains that are especially good for nighttime and insomnia and by using them I've been able to cut back on my sleep meds. I'm going to try to wean off them after the opioids.

If you have any questions you know I'll be happy to answer them.
