Coffeine?
Which brings me to another idea: to stop drinking coffee completely for a while and see how I do. Maybe I'm low on magnesium because of coffee. I drink 3-4 cups normal filter coffee in the morning, plus usually a double espresso during the day. Sounds much, but i've always had a low blood pressure and just feel sleepy without my coffee. Is coffee really depleting magnesium, or maybe something else also? And how can I keep myself awake without?

Coffee or caffeine, will increase magnesium loss thru the urine.
You can still have it, just increase magnesium intake a bit. If you drink your coffee with the food increases, see how you feel. You may be okay with that. It is best to do one thing at a time, so you can determine what is working or needs changing. |
do PN exercises
Although this is an aging post, just thought I'd add for any one reading later ....
It is worth considering seeing a physio with a specialty in neurological issues for hand / feet exercises for PN to slow down muscle wasting. In fact, it is also a good idea to do a "google images" search on hand and feet and balance exercises to see some pictures of possible exercises. Some pictures will show hand exercises for video gamers which cross over well. A search on "diabetic feet exercises" might also help. Also do a search under my username for how to make a "bean bucket" to slow down the wasting of feet. There are lots of finger, toes, hands, feet, extremities exercises which can help with agility. Also there are lots of balance exercises which will help prevent accidents from loss-of-sensation-feet if done over time. Natalie |
