Default Fracture of shoulder worsens PN in feet?

Four days after I broke my shoulder, causing a lot of swelling and of course pain in my arm, the swelling and peripheral neuropathy in my feet has gotten a lot worse. I'm wondering if this is just the way any kind of trauma can kick up the level of PN. Has anyone else had something like that happen?

Do you have autoimmune based PN? I ask because trauma is a known trigger for autoimmune conditions to flare. If your PN is autoimmune, then it would make perfect sense that it would get worse after your shoulder fracture.

Other PN's may respond similarly though too. I just know that autoimmune PN will definitely do this.

Thanks for the reply, en bloc. My neuropathy is still idiopathic – they looked for but didn't find an autoimmune cause. But I just called my neurologist to let him know what's happening, and maybe this will be a clue.

For what it's worse, I've noticed my neuropathy worsens with any kind of stressor...be it physical or emotional.
