Well technically, all pain is registered in the brain, but this article is mainly dealing with a way to deal with nerve pain locally, instead of "throwing out the baby with the bathwater" approach, that they currently do with opiates, anti-depressants and anti-seizure medications. With polyneuropathy where the pain is in several locations, then it would be more difficult to isolate. especially in the torso. My Neurologist was suggesting Botox injections in my feet, but then he decided just to dump me... (much easier!)
