Yes thank you. I've been through many sites. Looks less likely that I have HNPP as it seems from my reading that having tunnel symptoms at so many points all over my limbs would only be a later stage of HNPP. For me it was the first sign and all of a sudden. All four sites at once. Add to that the total lack of family history.

I must have missed reference to face involvement. You say this is entirely left side. I think they should include a scan of the brain and cervical neck as well.
Does any of your symptoms suddenly appear and then fade away after a short period of time...then return later? Or does it just get worse gradually as the day progresses...NO matter whether you've been in the car or not? |

The face tingling has gone away. The feet tingling waxes and wanes but progressively gets more constant during the day and evening. Primarily tingling in left foot but sometimes right foot, ankles and left hand. |

Ok so today a subtle symptom has worsened. I had a mildly numb spot on my left heel but today it's literally becoming a dead spot where I can't feel it. Is this a normal progression? Tingling to numbness?

They should order a 24 hr urine and serum protein electropheresis. The also do random, but I know that the 24 hr reveals more. A decent screening test for cancer as well as many other things. Often neuropathy occurs in cancer patients after chemo and/or radiation. CRP blood test can reveal an inflammatory process and has almost replaced the ESR. I have had many tests, but my symptoms are quite different from yours. I have been a medical technologist (scientist) form 20 yrs. I worked at St Louis University Hospital. I know a lot about body fluids, but little about this neuropathy. I have been educating myself. God Bless and God Speed!!

NO...these tests ONLY indicate that high levels of protein isn't in your blood and that your SED rate is normal, so no signs of inflammation.
Autoimmune testing starts with an ANA and/or ENA (anti-nuclear-antibody), CRP (for inflammation), SSA, and SSB,(Sjogren's labs), RF (rheumatoid factor), etc There are other but these are some of the basics to cover some more common autoimmune disorders. I have to ask: with all your running, did you every run on unpaved trails? I ask in case you might have gotten into ticks during your run. Any possibility? It is very common to NOT get the bulleye rash with Lyme disease. Are you around wooded areas a lot where you might have picked up a tick? If so, then you might want to mention it in case they feels it's warranted to run Lyme testing as well....just to coverall bases. |
