I'm a account rep and spend a lot of time in the car. I noticed on road trips exceeding an hour some tingling in my left foot where it sits on the floor board. Maybe my mystery PN is actually a result of bad ergonomics in my seat position lol
Do road trips cause issues for anyone? On a side note as a a paranoid person I try to stop occasionally to get out and move around to avoid blood clots. Don't want a pulmonary embolism!! |

Do road trips cause issues for anyone? Having my feet on the floor in a car or plane makes the burning on my soles come on quickly. Resting my foot on the back of the heel aggravates it as well. If I can turn my foot inward so the pressure is on the outside of the foot, rather than the sole, it helps a lot. I think it's the vibration, because sitting with my feet on the floor in the house, etc, is fine. |

I remember you mentioning early on in your posting that you had symptoms come on after being in the car (which you are in a lot during the day).
This might indicate some sort of compression in the lower spine. Does it go away after you get out and walk around? Is it more like the tingling one gets when an arm or leg falls asleep? If so, then it might even be a vascular thing...especially if it goes away right after you get up and restore better blood flow. Last edited by en bloc; 04-02-2015 at 08:40 PM. Reason: Spelling |

It's not the tingling like when a body part goes to sleep. I guess it could be my lower back I just never have back pain (yet) |

Does it go away when you get out of the car and walk around? If so, is it immediate relief?

No not really. It's actually not that bad right now. I drove from Chattanooga back home to Nashville today (2 hours) and there's some symptoms this evening. It tends to happen the evening of the trip. |

My husband experienced his right foot getting numb when he was in the car for an extended period of time. Recently when I was with him, he tried stomping his foot on the floor board to see if that helped. Finally, he stopped retied his shoes a little looser, and that seemed to help get the feeling back rather quickly.

Is it just tingling, or is there any burning or numbness? Just the one side?

A recent three hour trip to visit family required three stops. I have muscle spasming, numbness and tingling step up their game, as well.
We just roll with it.
