In the US it is called A and D ointment.
This is the most common brand: http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...la&kpid=155142 Make sure the sore is clean and not infected before applying. This is good for chafing and anorectal disorders. Clean the area well with hydrogen peroxide before applying. Chronic skin sores may be due to Vit A deficiency. If you do not take a multivitamin with real A (not betacarotene) in it, and are hypothyroid, you may be low in A. The liver converts betacarotene to A in the body, but this fails in hypothyroid patients. Dry eyes, dry mouth and skin issues + fatigue may be a sign of low A. One cod liver oil cap a day or one tablet of Vitamin A 8000 IU acetate will help heal these issues up. Do not consume more than this...as excess A is toxic. Vitamin A deficiency is the most common deficiency in the WORLD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_A_deficiency

If someone has had ncv/emg and skin punch biopsies come back clear does that mean they don't have neuropathy? Are there any other tests they should do? I asked Therapath if they indicate the condition of nerve fibers and they said no. Why would a company that offers this test not indicate condition of the nerve fibers? Is knowing the condition of the fibers very important? I still waiting for my skin biopsy results to come in.

Absolutely it is important. Tortuous, swollen, or segmented fibers indicate a destructive process like autoimmune. The density is NOT the only important factor...but I will say it is probably the one doctors look at most.

Those were precisely the words used for the findings at upper thigh/ hip in my skin biopsy four years ago. The other samples found no nerve fibers at ankle and very few above knee.
