Default Anybody good at interpreting MRI?

Just trying to figure this out still...

I have been told by a few doctors that my MRI's are normal. I have two herniated discs one cervical c8 and one lumbar (wasn't told which). However, I have been told that these would not be the source of my problems and that if you did an MRI on everybody, pretty much the whole population would have herniated discs. If I get the MRI report and read it would this be useful? I have had a neurosurgeon and a couple neurologists see the result. The neurosurgeon didn't see the actual film from my cervical MRI only read the report (Film didn't get sent to him or something).

Yes, the wording they use and if they say mild , moderate, severe etc will help , and if any nerve or cord impingement is mentioned.. some will even have measurements as to size of a herniation..
