Default Med Issues?

I'm having a real hard time finding a med for the pn. I'm still undergoing more doc apts for also another dx possibly. I went to the endcronologist yesterday who offered little but am doing some follow up blood, urine, bone density. This week I have the gp about my low white blood and waiting to hear from Mayo and Chicago. Anyhow on the med issue. I'm still in horrible pain in my inner left ankle/foot/calf and sometimes my other symptoms of the horrid neck, other leg,and dizzy out of body that none of my tests show any reason for or docs can figure which comes and go.The leg though the pain is always there but varies in degree but never do I not feel severe pain. Anyhow I was on Cymbalta which made me so dizzy after the 30mg,same with Lyrica and the Lyrica made me feel so out of body too. I was on Neurontin which made me feel the same as Lyrica at 300 so we went to 100 and now up 200. Since I have started this I have had the worst stomach and like a knife is in there and burning. I also feel so spacy but have continued for a few weeks hoping to adjust and keep increasing but I'm not.The level I will need to be on for relief seems like I will never be able to handle. I was on Elavil before this but there was no relief and my new neuro really wanted to try neurontin again so I switched but now I'm thinking maybe I should go back to elavil or another. Ugh I feel so hopeless with these meds and my still basically bed rest leg after this long. I am pushing more to do some errands but then usually am in crying pain. I take vicadin for pain though trying not to cause of my liver is high and tramsol which does not help. Any help with meds? I really can't handle that dizzy out of body which I already experience not on med sometimes. I also tend to get a jittery feeling on meds. Its a scarey feeling.I don't want to give up because I hear how meds can really be so helpful but I hate going through this and the constant new docs. I'm also going to look more into supplements and holistic but in addition. My blood work though is normal accept the low white blood which she is concerned and the high liver enzymes. Ok Thanks.

Are you taking any other medications or anything else that you haven't mentioned?

No. I'm taking only supplements in addition such as magnesium,b complex, b12,multi vitamin, glucosamine msn. I'm going to talk to the doc tomorrow cause now I have the flu. I just feel the neurontin is making me to sick and on such a low dose. I felt the elavil was better just not huge progress but maybe at a higher dose. I just need to find a med that helps but with very little side effects known cause I seem so sensitive.Does anyone know of that kind of med?

Default Daniella,

You may find that you have to find a pain clinic. A place that specializes in nothing but pain. And since you seem to be so sensitive, you may have to start your medicine at a low dose and titrate slower than you did before. Increasing in tiny steps. I have always been extremely sensitive to medications and don't react the way people normally do. Some of it is directly related to Sjogren's and the lack of moisture in my system. As a result when we finally found something I could tolerate (Lyrica), it has to be increased in 25 mg steps. I'm currently at 75 mg in the morning, 150 at lunch and 150 at bedtime. While it by no means gives me a normal life, at least I am able to sleep most of the time.

Please try to find a specialist in pain meds, preferrably someone who can treat neuropathic pain.
