Default Lyrica and Cymbalta taken together

I had an appointment with my GI doctor today and he asked me how I have been doing. I told him the truth-absolutely horrible. I told him how I feel depressed and in pain 24 hours a day. He asked me what the neurologist had prescribed and I told him Lyrica which I was waiting for the insurance to approve. He said that he wanted me to try cCymbalta with the Lyrica for the depression. Has anyone tried these two medications together? I'm a bit worried but the amount of pain I am in I will try anything.

Thanks

Cymbalta worked well for me. 60 mg. Dr increased to 90 mg and it made me weepy. I am back on 60mg and the depression is gone. Both Lyrica and Cymbalta seems like overkill to me. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to take effect. I have been on Gabapentin for 6 mo. 2700mg a day. Dealing well with my pain now. Accepted the fact that it will not go away ever, so avoiding opiates as long as possible.
