Default Heavy numb limbs

When I am lying down my arms and legs get a heavy feeling. They also feel "fuzzy" like there's electricity running through my skin. They also " feel" numb but aren't because if I touch them with my hand I can feel that touch. But it feels like I don't have arms and legs ..

I know that's not a very good description, but does that sound familiar?

I'm getting nervous because my symptoms seem to be changing a bit. The twitching has decreased a bit but these numb arms and legs are around more and more ( it's not patches on my arms and legs it's the whole limb) . Is this how real numbness starts?

If twitching starts to decrease is it a sign thAt the nerves are now completely dead?

The only consistent symptom may be the changes that occur. Some things last weeks, months, some come and go daily. I am fighting the weakness in my legs, they feel numb and heavy yet I also can feel the touch. I have given up Nicotine in an attempt to get better oxygen to my nerves. Don't have a clue if it will help but we all do whatever we think will help. Sometimes we do things that hurt the cause. I have been waiting on real numbness for over a year now. I do not worry about it so much now. My friends and PCP says to do deep knee bends but I have figured out for myself that the healing is dependent on nerve regeneration rather than weight-lifting. Good Luck, Ken in Texas.

Didn't you recently start taking Gabapentin and some other medication(s)?

Hopefully, its just a sign that the medication is working.

twitching is neuromuscular in nature, some of it is benign. Since PN is taken to account, it cause abnormal frequency of twitching. Numbness and loss of sensation would be a better sign, but pn includes all kinds of sensations.
